Diane Kruger has been flying with her duck — for nine years! The Sky actress celebrated boyfriend Joshua Jackson's 37th birthday and their anniversary on Thursday, June 11, by posting the best Mighty Ducks throwback photo ever!
"Happy Birthday to this adorable towhead who became my handsome man!" Kruger, 38, captioned an Instagram pic of Jackson's Charlie Conway character. "And happy 9 year Anniversary too."
She continued: "You make me appreciate life so much more and I'm so happy you found me in this crazy world."
Kruger and the Affair actor began dating in 2006 — after surviving a horrible first date! "I took her to an Italian restaurant, and there was some flower that was blooming. She was allergic to it so she sniffled and sneezed the entire time," the Dawson's Creek alum told Us Weekly in July 2012. He joked: "And when I get nervous, you might have noticed I talk a lot. So I just chewed her ear off for an hour and a half. It was amazing. I'm surprised she ever called back."
The twosome - who've said repeatedly that they're in no rush to get married – also blew past an awkward encounter with Kruger's mother, Maria–Theresa. After six months of dating, Kruger introduced Jackson to her mother in her native Germany. "I thought we were doing really good," the model recalled to Jimmy Kimmel in July 2013.
"Then my mom goes, 'Ahh, wait. I have something for you,'" she added. "She goes into the office and comes back with this classified folder of Internet clippings of Josh with his mugshot. She thought it would be cute to go, 'So, I see you've been arrested in 1997 at a hockey game. It says, 'Whose fault was it?'"
